I just got the 650 last night and I’m having an issue. I cant seem to get it to play. The pc has been the center of my system for over 2 years in many configurations. But, this one has me stumped. I’ve tried connecting directly using usb, bluetooth and even broke out the Wiim mini and tried the optical route. Nothing. I hook up the optical to my tv however and it works. Its just not how I wanted to do things. Any thoughts or ideas? I always ran a stand alone DAC before but cant now due to it only having RCA outs.
I feel your pain bro. I can’t help you out as I’m a noob here too, and having issues of my own, but I’m curious to know whether your App is working or not.
I’m a little confused to how your system is Working via Optical/TV but not otherwise, as this is how I’ve got mine configured, currently, but cannot access the 650 do to lack of an App.

Lets walk-through what exactly you’re asking.

Did you provision the amplifier? Are you able to control the amplifier through the app?

When you connect to your PC did you set the source to USB on the amplifier? if you did, on the PC, did you choose Acoustas Interface as your output in the PC? If you’re not seeing acoustas interface try a different USB cable. sometimes USB-C cables are just meant for charging and don’t have the data lines.

As far as Bluetooth, please set the input to Bluetooth and then look for the amplifier on your device so you can connect to it. If you don’t see it, try unplugging the amplifier from power in the back and re-plugging it in. then check again and make sure that you can connect to the amplifier via Bluetooth.
Let’s start there and make sure you got that going.

Yeah. I got the app to work. You have to follow the instructions very closely and do exactly as it says. It took me a minute on the app as well because i was just skimmimng over the instructions. My tv is working because I’m using the optic connection. My PC doesnt have it. So, I’m trying over USB and not having any luck with my amp being recognized

I’m still struggling with things. For instance I got my App to work and I was able to actually use and configure ‘in Bluetooth mode’ as I could not get my 650 to recognize either the Optical Or USB-C from the TV. Then my App stopped working and I haven’t been able to get it working again!? Stas contacted me to say that an Update for the App should be available in a week or two, but this is pretty frustrating to be honest…
Have you tried uninstalling then re-installing? That might get the app going again. I just left mine hooked to the tv. I’ve been messing with the eqs and have it sounding good. Better than its ever sounded aually. i could never get the passive eqs just righrt. I have well over $200 in inductors, caps and resistors. Ihope you get your issues taken care of. This is really a pretty good setup.

Ya I’ve Installed/Uninstalled/Installed several times, but I’ll give it another go. I won’t be giving up, I’m too invested now in everything around This Unit, plus I believe that it’s concept is geared for guys like us and fits our needs perfectly. Just those little bugs…
Little Update: I’ve made some progress in that my App is now functioning, and at this point I’m able to start to Balance my Speakers, so Yay!
I’ve yet to venture into getting the AC650 to communicate with the TV, or the DAC, as I just wanted to get into the Speakers w/o other possible concerns cropping up just yet.
I hope that now I’ll figure out how to use my DAC and other Amps along with the 650; whew it’s another learning curve that I’ve gotten myself into!

Hi Jay, did you ever get your PC to work over USB?
Hi Bobby, from your TV connect optical output to the AC650. Then in the TV’s menu make sure you choose optical out and in some cases make sure it is set to PCM and not any other format.
As far as the DAC it is not clear what your trying to do with it. From the AC650 you can output from Optical S/PDIF and into a DAC the has optical input. All other outputs on the AC650 already do the digital to analog conversion. From all 6 powered outputs to RCAs they are coming out fully analog.

Ya I guess that I can lose the DAC now; I thought that I’d need it to decipher the TV’s Digital Out and then Into the AC650.
Still, for some reason the Optical & HDMI eARC don’t work with a direct connection into the AC650; dunno why other that I’m in India and it’s a thing. I’ll try to pick up an HDMI/Toslink Extractor to make the jump as I’m of the same mind as Jay in that I’d rather do w/o all the Bluetoothy type signals flying about.

So did you try using the optical directly from your tv. What tv do you have? What model?
I thoufght I sent a reply to this. I dont see it so it must not have sent. No, I didnt try it. I was already running the video from the PC to my tv via HDMI so I figured may as well run the tv through my stereo, It ended up saving me some space since I was able to get rid of the soundbar and sub that I was using to watch tv. I just created a preset for the tv in the amps dsp. Sounds way better than the soundbar anyway. Thanks. Digging this amp. I look forward to updating as you continue to develop it

Update: Stas suggested looking at the TV’s Settings to turn on ‘Optical’ and to make sure it’s pumping out a PCM Signal (vs Atmos/Dolby+). That was it alrighty, and now I’m running the TV’s Sound (+ Spotify etc.) Through my Mains. Sounds Great and I too ditched my Center Speakers as they weren’t bringing anything to the mix.
