I’d suggest to have high and low shelf filters function to be included in the equalizer.
I have realized that when importing the REW generated EQ filters to the amp, low and high shelves were skipped. I believe those are essential for good equalization.
Thanks, Petr. You’re right, 15-band EQ uses peaking filters where you can set Q, frequency, and gain, and you can fine-tune everything with sliders in real time using RTA.
When importing from REW, stick with peaking filters for now. Most people use crossover and EQ together to get similar shaping results.
Shelf filters are on our to-do list. We’re currently focused on a few bigger features that are just around the corner, but shelves will be added in one of the upcoming updates. Really appreciate you bringing it up.
Not sure if this is possible with the DSP platform, but could a loudness feature be added? It would be nice to have a bit of treble and bass boost at low volume that evens out at higher volume.
I realize this might be inconsistent with speaker efficiencies, source volume, etc. but maybe a level control for it too?
chrisk15 thank you for the suggestion. We are considering something like this in the app for the future. Meanwhile have you fully played with the Tone Controls in the app and with the Tone Knobs on the AC650? As you turn the volume down at night, smoothly up the BASS a bit to your linking in tone control and the play with the highs till you can hear the highs well, the MIDS from time to time depending on the sound. Set a night time preset. See where that takes you. Let us know.
Thanks again.
Ah, great idea about a preset. I’m currently using all 8 presets for testing my active vs. passive setup but somehow didn’t think to use it for that purpose ![]()
